During the 1926 Goblet Celebration Korányi praises Semmelweis as the greatest doctor among the great, whose work still affects the fate of millions of people. He says that Semmelweis is the role model of a doctor who gives his heart to his patients and finds the essence and truth of their suffering. And as Hungarian people cherish his memory as a star, in their mind’s eye they see legions of people whose lives were saved by saving their mothers.
