New Open Access agreements - Taylor & Francis and BMJ

Dear Authors,

We inform you that as part of the Read & Publish agreements with Taylor & Francis and BMJ, we will provide 100% central support for Open Access publishing in specific journals of the aforementioned publishers from February 1, 2025.

In the case of Taylor & Francis, the support applies exclusively to the publisher's Scimago Journal Ranked Q1 and Q2 hybrid (subscription) journals, while in the case of BMJ, the support applies to all of the publisher's (hybrid + fully OA) journals.

We kindly draw your attention to the fact that the agreement with BMJ has not yet been signed, therefore, we ask you to only submit your manuscripts to the supported hybrid journals for now, and choose the subscription (closed) publication method when your publications has been accepted. After having a signed agreement with the publisher, we will convert these publications to Open Access in consultation with BMJ.

The basic condition for OA support is that the corresponding author is in a legal relationship with the university and that Semmelweis University is indicated as their affiliation on the publication. The supported article type is original article (also review at Taylor & Francis).

As part of the Taylor & Francis agreement, in addition to Open Access support, we now also provide full-text access to the publisher's Medical Library journal package (160+ journals) via the university network.

Our subscription to the BMJ journal package has also been expanded by 9 additional journals.

You can find the journals accessible through subscriptions in our journal catalog: https://lib.semmelweis.hu/folyoirat_katalogus/advanced
