Dear Students,
Library Informatics (AOVKPK1027_1A) course for the 2nd semester in 2025/26 academic year is on Wednesdays from 4.30 pm to 6.45 pm.
The aim of the subject to teach students how to use/search in literature sources of medicine, analyse the result of their work supporting the proper competencies.
The course is available from 3rd year. Preconditions (depend on faculty): Medical Physiology II. / Medizinische Physiologie II. / Medical and Dental Physiology II. / Medizinische und zahnmedizinische Physiologie II. / Introduction to Health Informatics (theory) II. / Einführung in pharmazeutische Informatik (Vorlesung) II.
Minimum requirements: Achieve a score of at least 33 points (out of a maximum of 72) by completing the module tests or the final exam, which cover the following topics: Website of the Central Library, Usage of Central Library Student VPN service; AI tools, plagiarism, copyright, scientific publications; Open Science, Open Access; PubMed, WoS, Scopus databases; Evidence based medicine; Specific databases; Prestige of journals; Reference managers (EndNote, Mendeley, Zotero). Presentations related to the topics can be found on the course’s Moodle platform under each module.

First lesson: 4th of March 2026
Faculty of Medicine’s / Faculty of Dentistry’s / Faculty of Pharmacy’s students (German students as well) can register for the course under the same subject code (AOVKPK1027_1A) in Neptun. The course language is English.
